Future Sight has evolved from Look Essex, the County's voluntary organisation for visually impaired children. Since 2002 Future Sight has been under development, and during 2005 extensive consultation, research and analysis was undertaken, that tested the hypothesis, "Future Sight will enhance the development of visually impaired people throughout life's transitions".
June 9th 2006 saw the successful launch of Future Sight as an organisation that is democratic, representative and responsive to the needs of visually impaired people.
